Synetra is a mentoring platform for students — school, Arts and Engineering. It verifies teachers and tutors, matches them to students by subject, class and free hours, and keeps the whole mentorship (messages, sessions, notes, homework, quizzes and progress) in one place with a coordinator able to see it all.
Class 1 to Class 12, plus Arts and Engineering students. Boards include CBSE, ICSE, Matriculation (Tamil Nadu State Board), IB, NIOS and Cambridge (CAIE). Subjects include English, Tamil, Maths, Science, Social Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Botany, Zoology, Computer Science, Economics and Commerce. Anything else can be typed in under Other.
Yes. Students can ask for a mentor for JEE or NEET, and for Tamil Nadu government and recruitment exams such as TNUSRB, TRB, MRB, TANGEDCO, TNFUSRC and cooperative department exams. Mentors list the exams they coach, and matching uses that list.
Yes. Alongside school subjects, students can be matched for music (keyboard, piano, guitar), Western dance, Bharathanatiyam, yoga, painting, drawing, tailoring, aari work, chess, debate, Python, Java, game development and robotics.
Synetra runs in the browser, so students and mentors can use it from anywhere in India. Sessions, messages, notes and homework all happen on the platform. It is built with Tamil Nadu students in mind, which is why Tamil, the Matriculation board and state exams are included.
Teachers, tutors and subject specialists can apply. Before a mentor can be matched with a student, a coordinator reviews their school or institution, role, years of teaching, an identity document and their qualification or experience documents.
A scoring engine ranks approved mentors for each student: subject overlap (40%), class and board match (25%), free hours (15%), free capacity (10%) and current load (10%), with mentor rating as a tiebreaker. A coordinator confirms the suggestion and the mentor accepts or declines.
No. Each mentor has a maximum student count set by the coordinator. The database itself refuses any assignment that would exceed it.
Notes, worksheets and past papers are stored privately and can only be opened by the students they were shared with. Every download is stamped with the platform name, the student's name and email, and the date, and is logged.
On the server. Students receive the questions without the answer key; when they submit, the server marks the attempt and records the score. Mentors set the pass mark, time limit and number of attempts.
An advisory score from 0 to 100 built from the attempt's wall-clock time, per-question pacing, tab switches and focus loss, clipboard and right-click attempts, page reloads, and how closely the answers match other students' attempts. It flags attempts for a mentor to review. It never fails a student automatically.
The ID type and the last four characters of the number, plus the document image the mentor uploaded for review. The full number is never stored.
